The Shree Siddhivinayak Temple Darshan timings on regular days are from 5:30 am in the morning. However on Tuesdays and special occasions like Vinayaka Chaturthi, Maghi Shree Ganesh Jayanti, Sankashti Chaturthi and Bhadrapada Shree Ganesh Chaturthi temple is open from 3:15 am in the morning. On regular days the temple closes after the last aarti at 9:50 pm and on special days it closes at 12:30 am.

Please note from 8:45 pm to 10:10 pm the temple door remains closed for Pooja and Aarti. During that period darshan is possible only from afar.
Entry fee of Shree Siddhivinayak Temple:
There is no entry fee to enter the temple. however if you wish to skip the long queue on Tuesdays or any other holidays, weekends or in general also there is a special line. You can pay Rs. 50 and opt for a paid darshan. In that scenario the waiting time will be around 20 minutes to 45 minutes which otherwise can extend to several hours as well.
How to reach Shree Siddhivinayak Temple
Local trains
If you are in Mumbai local trains are one of the most convenient modes of transport and cheaper options too. In the central line you need to get off at Dadar or Parel. From there you will have to take a taxi. If you are travelling in Western Line then the nearest stations will be Lower Parel or Prabhadevi. And for the ones travelling in the Harbour Line they need to change at the Central Line in Kurla. From most of these stations the temple is about 1.5 km to 3.5 km away.
Buses

History of Shree Siddhivinayak Temple
A wealthy lady Deubai Patil established this temple in 1801. At first the structure of the temple was smaller than the structure that we get to see today. The idol is still the same. It is a monolithic idol carved out of a single black stone. At present however the idol is orange in colour with gold plating at some portions. The temple however went through a huge transformation after the Government of Maharashtra renovated the temple in 1990. This was mostly done to tackle the congestion and the huge number of devotees. The work of the temple was completed in 1993. The structure of the present day temple cost 3 crore rupees in total.
Architecture of Shree Siddhivinayak Temple
The Siddhivinayak Temple is a 6 storey structure. There is a dome at the apex of this temple which is very prominent. The apex is gold plated and is one of the major attractions of the structure of this temple. The pinnacle of the temple here weighs near about 5000 kg. Marble and pink granite are the materials for the main edifice of the temple and the premise has either gold or has a combination of five important metals. You will find three entrances to enter the temple complex on the ground floor.
The ground floor is the place where the devotees queue for the pooja and the darshan of the idol. In the inner sanctum there is the main idol of Lord Ganesha. Here the god sits on an exquisite gold throne and Hindu goddesses Ridhi and Sidhi surround him on either side. The idol of Lord Ganesha is 2 feet wide and 2 feet 6 inches in height which is small in terms of the 6 storey high temple. One of the specialities of the idol of Lord Ganesha here is his trunk. Unlike most other idols here the trunk of the God is on the left. In most cases the trunk of Lord Ganesha is seen on the right though.
The second floor of this temple is basically the kitchen. It is the area where the food offered to the God is prepared. Along with that some administrative offices are also present here.

Then the third floor is strictly for official purposes. The main office and the computer room are located here on the third floor. Furthermore the fourth floor is the library along with a study hall. Here you will find more than 8000 books on various subjects. Anyone can get access to this library and the study hall for free. At once this library has the capacity to accommodate almost 500 students. However the general capacity of this library has a seating arrangement of 150 people.
On the fifth floor the area is again a kitchen. This is the area that is a larger kitchen. During occasions and special festivals the food is prepared here. On the top floor, which is the 6th floor there are 47 gold plated crowns. This is the roof top and is one of the most beautiful areas of the temple.
Things to remember before visiting the Shree Siddhivinayak Temple
You cannot take your cameras or laptops inside the temple. If you are carrying any of these then you will have to get a security locker by paying Rs. 10 for camera and Rs. 50 for laptops. You can carry your mobile phones along though. However you will have to make sure the phone is either switched off or on silent mode. Also you cannot take photos once you are inside the temple.
You will have to remove the shoes before entering the main shrine. There is a deposit stand where you need to keep your shoes. Moreover you will get a token against the shoes that you are keeping. However this is a free service but if anyone wishes to they can donate a small amount of Rs. 5 or Rs. 10 or even more as donation to the temple.
You will find separate lines to enter the temple here. There are lines for people who want to enter the inner sanctum. Also there are lines for people who wish to get a quick view from afar. And there is a separate queue inside the temple for differently abled people, senior citizens and mothers with infants.
